Article on Press Bailout I was referring to in my "Hibernation Post."

Please check on this article on possible newspaper bailout in Bristol, CT . I referenced it in my "Hibernation Post":

Government aid could save U.S. newspapers, spark debate (Reuters)

This blog post sums it up and mirrors the great Sutton Show switch made a few months back.....
- zero posts until this
- Gary's notable abscense from the blog site

I used to follow, listen, and think on talking points posed by Gary. Now, him and Jim beg for callers as they did Wednesday morning.

I don't listen to the "York's Morning News" except for 5 seconds on my way to SNR 1350. Now, I can say that I've rid my mind of this blog.

Crash and burn! Burn baby, BURN!

Wow! "Crash and burn! Burn baby, BURN!" How sixtyish.

What can I say? I have been tried arraigned, tried, and found guilty.

In a sense, you are right! I have been working very hard over the past three months on a brand new concept in Morning Drive Time. The effort has been t o make the show conversational with a combination of current newsmakers, reporting to the moment, combination of local, state, national, and international news, entertainment, and opinion.

Your reference to Wednesday is an example of cultivating the fact that the 8:00 hour is there for callers. If you would have listened Thursday, you would have heard callers non-stop.

Not that it will probably matter, but we received our first ratings book this past week. We focus on our core zip codes where our signal is the strongest. Our numbers were significantly (1.1 in 8:00 hour last year at this time; now 4.4 this year for the 8-9 hour.) Our listeners are listening longer, and we have new people tuning in to the show. Yes, the other two hours are up big as well. In fact, we just received a bonus for surpassing goals set by our national company.

I say this not to brag, but to explain that the show we have been working on is bearing fruit. I do apologize for neglecting my blog responsibilities during that time, and will try to be more regular in my posts.

Unfortunately for you, the show might some heat associated with hit, but "Burn baby, Burn!" I don't think so.
